Ann Arbor’s Neighborhood Coffee Shop & Cocktail Bar
Lowertown Bar & Cafe is a neighborhood gathering place on Ann Arbor's Northside — a coffee shop by day and a craft cocktail bar by evening, all under one roof at 1031 Broadway Street.
Mornings start with specialty coffee brewed from Hyperion Coffee Co. beans. Order a pour-over, a latte, or a cortado alongside fresh pastries while you settle into a seat to work, read, or catch up with friends. The WiFi is strong, the tables are spacious, and the atmosphere is calm enough to get things done.
As the afternoon turns to evening, Lowertown shifts. The espresso machine gives way to the cocktail bar, where our bartenders pour handcrafted cocktails, Michigan craft beers, natural wines, and a full menu of zero-proof mocktails for those who prefer to skip the alcohol. The espresso martini — where our two worlds collide — is one of the most popular drinks on the menu.
When the weather is right, head out to our patio. The fire pits are lit, a local food truck is parked outside serving everything from tacos to wood-fired pizza, and the Northside neighborhood comes alive around you. It's one of the few spots in Ann Arbor where you can sit outside with a cocktail, bring your own food or get a plate from a guest kitchen, make a day or a night of it.
Throughout the week you'll find Tuesday trivia nights, Cocktail R&D tastings, live music, and community events that bring regulars and newcomers to the same table. Check our events calendar to see what's coming up, or stop by our menu to plan your visit.
